We’re getting married and we’d love you to be there.
The wedding weekend will take place at Em’s family lake house in Alta, CA, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. It’s a big house on a small lake. There’s a lake walk, a swimming hole, rowboat, canoe, tennis court, ping pong table, and a wraparound porch. A quick drive down the hill gets you to the neighboring town of Dutch Flat, once a gold mining boomtown, now a California Historical Landmark.
Yes, it’s a wedding, but mostly it’s a fun and relaxing time in the mountains with people we love.
We know it’s last-minute so no pressure if you can’t swing it. We plan to do a second celebration on the east coast, an anniversary party in Upstate New York in 2022, for friends and family (stay tuned).
The main event will begin with a flashbang ceremony around 4:00 pm on Saturday, September, 18, followed by dinner dancing, games, and more dancing.
Accommodations
Accommodations are available at two houses on Lake Alta - the Brush house and the Kruzi house - as well as at the nearby Dutch Flat Hotel, where we have a block of rooms reserved. Once RSVPs come in, we will work with you to coordinate lodging.
It’s a lake house weekend so being at the Lake is part of the experience, but you are welcome to look into other hotels or Airbnb options as well - whatever works best for you!

This link will take you to the driveway entrance which is marked with two signs, "Brush Miller" and "Pope Dunn Phister". Make a left and take it all the way to the end. You'll pass the tennis court on the right and the swimming hole on the left. You'll see cars parked by the shed, keep going up the hill, staying to the right, towards the house and the lake.
Meals
Family-style and buffet meals will be provided at the lake house starting Friday but you’re welcome to come and go as you please!
